Transcend Healthcare is a private company limited registered in England. Its purpose is to provide care and support to individuals in their own homes. We provide live in care support and domiciliary care and support.

Transcend Healthcare is committed to preventing the existence or prospect of modern slavery and human trafficking in its corporate activity and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls, to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our organisation or supply chains.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 (1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and highlights the key activities we have taken during the financial year 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023 to minimise the risk of modern slavery or human trafficking in our organisation or supply chains.

Our organisation

Transcend Healthcare is a private company limited in registered in England. We work with health and social care partners to ensure that we provide care and support to individuals following assessment.

Everyone is important and individual to us as a loved one is to their family. We carefully select our employees based on their compassion, experience, expertise and, most importantly, their commitment and professionalism for providing the highest levels of care. We continuously invest in our employees to ensure that they are best equipped to provide an outstanding service.

Our policies on slavery and human trafficking

We have the following policies in place that reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and enforcing effective systems and controls to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking. Our policies set out our approach to identifying the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking and the steps we take to prevent it in our operations.

Our Grievance policy details how formal concerns can be raised and how they will be investigated and responded to.

Our Whistleblowing policy details the different whistleblowing pathways open to team members, should they have any concerns. Team members can raise concerns of any nature to their team leader, Registered Manager or directly with our Director.

Our Recruitment Policy ensures we continue to operate a robust recruitment process, including conducting eligibility to work in the UK checks for all staff, to safeguard against human trafficking or individuals being forced to work against their will.

Our Safeguarding Policy- As we work closely with adult social care and health partners and people who access care and support, we encourage staff to take action within the parameters of this policy if they observe something which could constitute neglect or abuse, which includes slavery and human trafficking.

We continuously review and update all our policies.

Risk assessment and management

We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain. The risks linked to modern slavery are a topic of conversation in our Leadership meetings.

There have been no disclosures or any identified instances of modern slavery within the company to date. We also conduct payroll checks, annually, to ensure, in so far as is possible, that no team member is having their salary paid to someone else, against their wishes.

Owing to the existing systems we have in place and the progress made as highlighted in this statement, we are confident that should disclosures be made, we have appropriate systems and processes in place to ensure corrective action is taken promptly.

Training

We provide a modern slavery e-learning module. This training is aimed at all staff including line managers in the organisation.

This training covers:

· The forms modern slavery can take.

· The relevant legislation.

· The signs line managers should look out for.

· How concerns can be reported.
